With over 65% of the adult population suffering from being overweight, it is clear that thoughtful and unique strategies are needed…We need to understand why we are eating too much, and how to stop doing so.

The objective of Margaret’s Impulsive Eating site is to give context to all psychological aspects of obesity. Her professional and academic career are devoted to understanding eating motivation.

You will not find a single pseudo scientific post: empricial proof can be tough to find, but there is lots of it in the world of Obesity Research. And she finds it !

Her years in academia were devoted to:

  • psychometric test development
  • human learning and food preference
  • impulsivity and overeating

Ms. Yúfera-Leitch regularly publishes work in peer reviewed journals, international newspapers, and on her blog (three times a week).

Her expertise becomes particularly useful given the complexity of the current obesity pandemic. The interdisciplinary approach she uses focuses on the complex interplay that is confusing your recognition of ‘true’ hunger signals. Once you understand how and why you might be eating for pleasure, you’ll have a better idea of how to stop it.

If you have issues related to pleasure driven eating, binge type eating, or simply are curious about your dependency on chocolate cake, you really should visit Margaret’s site.
